This weekend I’m traveling to New York for the New York City Marathon! The marathon organizers are expecting a huge turnout, and last year there were more than 50,000 race participants. I have been in the NYC Marathon before, but new for me this year will be racing in support of the Colon Cancer Challenge Foundation. You can help support the cause, by visiting our team page on Crowdrise, here.
As background, Dr. Thomas K. Weber started the Foundation in 2008 with its mission to reduce colorectal cancer incidence and death through supporting research, increasing public awareness, educating the public and partnering with strategic partners in the fight against colorectal cancer. The Foundation continues to grow in its public outreach efforts with its participation in this year’s ING Marathon Charity Runner program.
Also, I’m planning on racing with two friends, Renee and Ann, which should make it all the more memorable. I’ll be sure to write a blog post about my experience with photos from NYC. In the meantime, you can follow along on Twitter or Facebook.
