I have a busy weekend ahead and hope you can join me this Saturday, Oct. 4 for either (or both!) the Hope 5k and Give Cancer the Boot luncheon at Christian Hospital.
I’m grateful to serve as the honorary chair for the Hope 5k this Saturday at 7:30 a.m. in Kirkwood. You can read more and register for the race, here. The 5k is organized by Haiti Orphan Project, a charity that partners with the Global Orphan Project (or GO Project) and Haitian evangelical churches to build “villages” to care for orphaned and abandoned children. This care includes housing, food, clothing, education and clean drinking water as well as efforts to reunite these children with families (where possible) or find appropriate homes.
After the Hope 5k, I’ll be a guest speaker at Christian Hospital for the Give Cancer the Boot event, a Women’s Cancer Awareness and Prevention Luncheon. Dr. Mackenzie Daly will share cancer prevention information, and Dr. Stephanie Bonne will discuss breast cancer and treatment advancements over the past few years. If you can, please join me! There will be informational booths, lunch and goody bags for attendees. The luncheon is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Christian Hospital on 11133 Dunne Road, we’ll be in the atrium of the Detrick Building ground floor.
