October was a busy, busy month!

pedalthecauseFirst, we Pedaled the Cause!

Pedal the CauseTM St. Louis, held Oct. 5-6, was a huge success!  I am so honored to have been a part of this amazing event and so grateful for the support of our incredible team. Powered by Hope/Team Teri (with 160 members) is the top Friends and Family Team fundraiser, raising over $130,000 for cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

We rode in honor of Darnell, a 5-year-old with leukemia.  Read about him and all the inspiring “Ride for a Child” children here.

Next we got energized at the Colon Cancer Alliance National Convention

I had the pleasure of speaking at this wonderful event in sunny Miami, Florida, October 11-12!  I met lots of new colon cancer fighters and survivors, saw lots of blue (the color of colon cancer awareness), met the other dress in blue models, and recharged my battery to fight, spread awareness and inspire!


Then we took on Teri’s Challenge

For several months I, along with my partners through the Tom Hill InstituteDr. Michelle Robin and Sara Poor, encouraged you to get active and get healthy by training for and participating in a 5K (or longer) race in October.

Team Teri participated in the Run, Walk, Skip, Go St. Louis Halloween Run on October 13.

Did you take the challenge?  If so, I hope you found that it is not about a single race, or even about a single goal.  It is about choosing a lifestyle that will keep you healthy and strong for years to come – no matter what comes your way.  Perhaps running is not your thing.  Or maybe, like me, you prefer to mix it up.  The main thing is to stay active on a regular basis.  Finding something that is fun and enjoyable to you just makes it easier!
