Yesterday marked the start of National Nurses Week where we celebrate nurses for the amazing and tireless work they do. The week kicks off each year on May 6 and ends by celebrating Florence Nightingale’s birthday on May 12.
As a former nurse and someone who directly benefits from the amazing care nurses provide, please join me in thanking nurses everywhere for their dedication and commitment. There are many ways you can get involved in Nurses Week, but I think the simplest and probably most meaningful way is by reaching out and thanking a nurse in your life. During my treatments I spend much time with the nurses, sometimes more time with the nurses than with the doctors. The work they do for me and for others undergoing treatment means so much.
To the nurses in my life, a heartfelt thank you for all that you do!
