This weekend I will be traveling to St. Petersburg, FL for the 2014 St. Anthony’s Triathlon. This is my first time competing in this race and I’m really excited about it. My goal, as always, is to cross the finish line safely. You know the saying and it holds true, slow and steady finishes the race!
For those of you interested in triathlons, the St. Anthony’s Triathlon is known as the sport’s first major race of the season, and there are usually professional and amateur athletes including Olympic gold medalists, Ironman World Champions and celebrity athletes. A native St. Louisan and Olympian, Sarah Haskins (a professional) will be competing.
The race also serves as the USA Triathlon Florida Regional Championship, qualifying athletes for USAT Nationals, as well as the HyVee 5150 Championship, which I’m planning on competing in this August.
I’ll be sure to do a follow up post with some photos from the race. As always, thank you for your support!
